HISTORY OF THE FOLTZ COMMUNITY CENTER
In 1991, a group of civic minded individuals came together to form The Greater East Canton Community Development Association. The goal was to build a community center for the greater East Canton area. That goal came to fruition in 1995 through the generosity and determination of many individuals working together unselfishly. GECCDA, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, operates the Foltz Community Center. The community center was built solely with private, community organizations', and corporate donations of land, knowledge, material, money, and good old fashioned hard work. The facility is rented and fund raising activities are held to pay the cost of the Center's operations and maintenance.
This allows the Foltz Community Center to meet the mission of serving our beloved community.
